Alex Be, a talented singer and songwriter hailing from the beautiful city of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, has made a name for herself with her soul-stirring indie soul style. Widely acclaimed for her ability to exude raw emotion and power, as well as her versatility and sensitivity on stage, Alex Be captivates audiences and fellow performers alike.
Drawing from storytelling traditions and personal experiences, Alex Be’s songs elevate and mesmerize listeners. Her journey in music began at a young age, as she has been singing for as long as she can remember. At the age of 16, she took her passion beyond shower singing and started formal lessons. From there, her musical foundations, built through years in concert bands, seamlessly transitioned into contemporary music.
Alex Be’s love for music led her to pick up the guitar at 18, learning from a local instructor. When she made the big move from Montreal to Victoria, she continued her studies at the prestigious Victoria Conservatory of Music. In 2020, she graduated from the Music Performance diploma program, and later completed a Graduate Certificate in Music Composition at Humber College in Toronto.
Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Alex Be prioritized live performances, delighting audiences in sold-out solo shows and performances with her beloved R&B community band.
Having received immense love and support from her local community, Alex Be feels privileged and is thrilled to be working towards making her mark on the broader Canadian music scene.
