Wouldn’t you agree that the world is so full of ways to tell us we need to conform and not stand out?!
This is where Peta-Ann Wood is different, she is a true Elegant Rebel – someone who challenges societal expectations with grace, compassion, and kindness. As a breast cancer thriver, author and holistic coach, she has embraced what many call “woo woo” for her own emotional and energetic wellbeing.
In this post, I want to explore how she harnesses elements such as music, colour and frequency and how you can apply them in your own life, too.
First, let’s explore what it means to be an Elegant Rebel. As per Peta-Ann, it isn’t about being loud or defiant but about choosing your own path with authenticity and self-awareness.
After her breast cancer diagnosis, she rejected the societal pressure to undergo reconstructive surgery, choosing instead to embrace her body as it was. This one decision led her to create Elegant Rebel, where she embraces and shares the philosophy that supports and encourages individuals to break free from the limiting norms of the world and embrace grace and self-compassion.
You might know that everything in the universe operates on vibration —sound, colour, even your own energy. Surrounding yourself with certain frequencies, colour and music with intention can create a more harmonious and balanced state of being, according to Peta-Ann.
Music as a Healing Tool
Music is a form of vibrational medicine, and not just entertainment. Let’s look at an example of musical notes and frequencies which resonate with our emotions and energy centres (chakras):
✅ 432 Hz – Known as the “harmony frequency,” this promotes relaxation and mental clarity.
✅639 Hz – Connected to the heart chakra, helping to enhance love and emotional balance.
✅ 852 Hz – Associated with intuition and inner peace.
Peta-Ann has made the great suggestion to search for these frequencies on platforms like Spotify or YouTube and play them as background music to subtly influence your energy.
Let’s move on to colour! Just as with sound, colour operates on vibrational wavelengths, and this directly affects how we feel. Peta-Ann, as a colour therapist, encourages us to tune into the colours we are drawn to each day.
Here’s how different colours impact our energy:
✅Red – Energizing and grounding.
✅Blue – Calming and soothing.
✅Yellow – Uplifting and motivating.
✅Green – Balancing and heart-opening.
✅Purple – Intuitive and spiritually aligned.
A great and simple exercise is to ask yourself each morning: What colour do I feel drawn to today? What colour do I need today? Then try to incorporate that colour into your day; this could be the clothes you wear, surroundings or your sticky notes you use to support your energy.
Peta-Ann’s approach is what I love: simple yet profound! And here is how you can integrate these concepts into your life and daily routine:
✅ Choose Your Daily Colour – In the morning, ask yourself what colour you need and try to incorporate this into your day.
✅ Match It with Music – Look up a corresponding frequency or look for frequencies that match the energy you need (e.g., blue for relaxation, paired with 639 Hz music).
✅ Use Colour Therapy for Emotional Support – If, for example, you feel overwhelmed, visualise a calming colour washing over you. The same goes for when you want to feel energised—pick a colour that matches this vibe.
✅ Stay Open & Curious – Pay attention to how different colours and sounds make you feel and take note of this to adjust if and when needed.
As Peta-Ann lovingly reminds us, self-discovery and healing do not have to follow the rules of society. So whether you use music or colours to support you, you can create your own path to wellbeing!
Now, tell me, what sounds and colours are you drawn to today? Start experimenting and embrace your own Elegant Rebel journey!
