In our chat she shares her journey to get to where she is today, the amazing results using her box can bring and also how it all works. You really have to tune in and hear for yourself what a beautiful business and vision Emilie has created.

Emilie is a passionate music educator, loving mother of twin girls and a busy boy, and a blessed wife. She grew up in Utah, Montana, and Ohio and now claims Utah as her home. She graduated from Brigham Young University with a dual degree in Elementary Music Education – with an emphasis on Early Childhood Music. Emilie is Kodaly-certified and loves using the Kodaly-method as her structure with Dalcrose, Orff, and other methodologies mixed into her teaching!

She taught in the Provo school district for 5 years, teaching general music education to Kindergarten-6th grade students, while also serving as the Special Needs Music Specialist for the district. She was nominated for the Beverly Sorenson Arts Award. She has been teaching the Music and Movement classes at Suzuki String Institute for the last 3 years.

She was head of the Early Childhood Music Department at The Gifted Music School in Salt Lake City, Utah. Her work at The Gifted Music School included overseeing the Early Childhood Music Program as well as teaching early childhood music classes herself. She was one of 2 teachers that created the afterschool music program GRIT that has given underprivileged students the opportunity to learn violin, singing, and so much more while giving them the confidence to learn to perform for the Governor and so many other dignitaries.

Emilie’s current project includes founding and creating Music Adventure Box LLC which is a subscription box and online music lesson company. These boxes and lessons create a way for families to connect and play with their children at home through music.

When asked what her favorite thing about teaching is, she said, “I love that when you teach music, you are not just teaching music. You are teaching how to be a human. The skills these students develop as they hone their music practice sets them up for life-long success. It’s a miracle to be part of all of that and see their potential blossom.”

For those living outside of the USA, Emilie has a digital program that is priced at just $25 a month where they receive online music classes, online musical sign language classes, and printable versions and videos of each month’s Music Adventure Box!
